It started with one man building something for his family.

In 1968, Galen Kimble set out to build his own business — one that could support his family and be built on doing right by customers. That business became Area Roofing & Siding, and the way Galen worked became the way the company works: stay involved, stay accountable, answer the calls.

In the 2010s, Galen’s son Kevin Kimble took over running the company, carrying that same approach into a second generation. Under Kevin, Area grew across Maryland and into Washington, DC — without ever becoming the kind of high-volume operation where customers become job numbers.

Today, a third generation is stepping up. Kevin’s son Jake Kimble is beginning to lead the company, starting with our newest and fastest-growing branch in Nashville, Tennessee. Nearly sixty years after Galen founded the business, his grandson is carrying the family name — and the family standard — into Middle Tennessee.

The geography has grown. The way we operate hasn’t. We stay involved. We stay accountable. We answer the calls.

1968

Galen Kimble — Founder

Founded the company to support his family and do right by customers. His way of working became the company's standard.

2010s

Kevin Kimble — Owner

Took over day-to-day leadership and grew Area across Maryland and into Washington, DC — without losing the family approach.

Today

Jake Kimble — Nashville

Stepping into leadership with the Nashville branch, carrying the family name and standard into Middle Tennessee.
